ARCHIE MANNING HORLOCK

Archie had been badly mistreated and taken to Operation Kindness where former DeGolyer teacher, Mrs. Burger, is a volunteer. She thought Ms. Horlock would be a good mother for Archie...and it was love at first sight! Archie was named after Ms. Horlock's other favorite red head, Archie Manning. He was a famous quarterback from Ole Miss, Ms. Horlock's college. You may have heard of his sons...Peyton and Eli Manning. They play a little football, too. Archie really wants to cuddle all day and does not like for Ms. Horlock to come to school. |

| Mr. A originally got Swee' Pea for his Mom just after his father passed away and inherited Swee' Pea from his mom just ten months later following her death.
Swee' pea now five years old, was a rescue dog from the American Humane Society in Fort Worth having been abused by her previous family.
She is a real member of the family. If he's nice, she allows Mr. A to share HIS bed with her.
Swee' Pea eats brussel sprouts and other green vegetables but loves potato chips the best. Her favorite pastime is going for a ride in the car, even if it's just around the block.

| Meet Suede aka "Furball" and his new friend, Frida. If you look closely, you will see Frida's unibrow, hence her name. Suede was rescued many years ago but Frida came to live with Ms. Kent this summer. She also came from Operation Kindness with the help of--quess who--Mrs. Burger. |

| My name is Toulouse. I live in Mrs. Kent's studio. I love to help her with her art projects. I'm also the hit of Art Camp. I was rescued, too, and I'm very grateful. I love people and I'm good at giving hugs. |

We are the Burger Clan. Mr. and Mrs. Burger adopted us at Operation Kindness. I'm the black dog and my name is Imie. I was found in Oak Cliff tied with wire to a post. I'm Bentley, standing next to Imie. I was found on the highway between Rockwall and Terrell trying to dodge 18-wheelers. |

WATSON MADDOX

WOOF! My name is Watson. I'm such a handsome fellow, but it hasn't always been true. I used to hang out with some people that broke my leg, dumped me off at the vet, and disappeared. The nice vet put a metal pin in my leg, so I could walk. Of course, he couldn't keep me forever, so he called "Operation Kindness" to come get me. That's kind of an orphanage for dogs and cats. I was skin and bones and I walked with a limp. Not a thing of beauty was I. Hundreds of people looked me over. I put on all by best faces from happy to pitiful, stood on my back legs, and barked my sweetest bark. They all looked but no one wanted me. I was really getting depressed. I did have one toy with me, so I kept it in my mouth kind of like a security blanket. It made me feel better. |

| Then one day, when I had given up, my family walked in. They didn't mind my limp and they didn't care that I was so skinny. It took me awhile to trust them on account of what had happened to me before, but now I'm living the life every dog dreams of. All I have to do is guard the house, woof at strangers, and open doors to keep them paying attention. What a LIFE!! |

| Coal just celebrated a birthday on March 31st. His Mom and Dad, Jan and Tim Andersen wish him a very happy one. Accordingly to them he is truly "delightul" in the E. L. DeGolyer tradition and they love him very much!! |

POOKEY AND TEDDY FEASEL

|
Pookey is a twelve and a half year old yellow lab who loves to eat carrots and apples. She is very smart and has a lot of small, squeaky stuffed animals. She had eight puppies one time. Two were white, four yellow and two were reddish.
Teddy is a red golden retriever. He is seven and a half years old and is never without his tennis ball. He can catch his ball no matter how you throw it. Then he brings it back and drops it so you will throw it again. He loves to have his chin scratched.
